This tutorial video on NextJS and Chat Engine is straight to the point and awesome for the little code to create a working online chat example. The red flag from this setup is the private key of Chat Engine. I don’t think it should be exposed to any public pages. So I updated the fork of this tutorial using environment variables. Also put the API of Get or Create User as environment variable for easier configuration.
